In the heart of nature, in a small rustic hamlet, this former barn has retained its character while benefiting from top-of-the-range renovation, the perfect blend of old-world charm and contemporary functionality.

Les Coquelicots" in Montceau-et-Écharnant is a fully-equipped family home with 5 bedrooms, over 250m2 of interior space and over 600m2 of outdoor space.

You'll love the noble materials used in the renovation and its authenticity: exposed stone walls, Burgundy stone, natural stone or terracotta tiled floors, French ceilings, unfinished woodwork...

When you arrive, you'll be struck by the wide, exposed stone façade and the impressive, rounded anthracite opening, more than 5 m high and wide. This clever blend of old and new will be the leitmotif of your stay. An exquisite foretaste.

The well-tended, wooded garden offers three areas in which to relax. The first around a table in the shade of the large tree, the second under the shelter, with its outdoor kitchen and large table, and the third around the comfortable garden furniture and parasol. The outdoor kitchen is equipped with a sink, plancha grill and traditional barbecue. Each outdoor table seats 6 to 8 adults. You'll love the peaceful surroundings, the rose bushes, the majestic pine and the exposed stonework of this old barn, renovated by an architect. The exterior is entirely enclosed by low walls, offering security and privacy.

A rear courtyard enclosed by an electric gate provides secure parking for your vehicles. A private charging point for electric cars is also available.

Now enter the house: the ground floor, with its impressive volumes, distributes a spacious entrance hall, a cosy living room with its authentic fireplace, a dining room, a semi-open fitted kitchen with beautiful features and a storeroom.

The living room, nestling under a French-style ceiling with its majestic beams, can accommodate up to 10 guests thanks to its two large corner sofas, two comfortable armchairs and leather and velvet poufs. Relax in front of the log fire or while watching television. Coffee tables, side tables and a large carpet make this a practical and comfortable space.

The dining area features a large waxed concrete table, 8 comfortable velvet chairs and a beautiful chandelier. There is also a large wooden china cabinet and a decorative console.

In a discreet adjoining room, enjoy the large zinc bar where you can gather to taste the best wines from the region, admire the decorative artwork and the traditional terracotta floor tiles. A unique atmosphere and memorable evenings ahead!

There is a separate WC and washbasin on the ground floor.

As the centrepiece of family life, you'll love cooking in the charming, fully-equipped kitchen. The kitchen is divided into two areas. The first is the main corner kitchen with island and hob, extractor hood, chopping board, sink, oven, microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine. There are plenty of cupboards and drawers with all the equipment and utensils you need to prepare your meals. The second area, separated by an industrial glass roof, has a kitchenette with a pantry, a second sink and an American fridge with ice dispenser.

You can enjoy meals in small groups around the kitchen island or the small side table.

From the kitchen, you can access the laundry room, which has a washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as plenty of storage space. You can hang out and dry your washing in the courtyard at the back of the house.

Upstairs, a cosy mezzanine with a bookcase leads to two separate areas. Admire the high ceiling, the sea rush floor and, in winter, the SPA!

To the right is the intimate master suite with its king-size bed, natural stone floor, en suite bathroom and dressing room. The master bathroom has two basins, a bath, a walk-in shower and a second private WC.

To the left, a corridor leads to the other three main bedrooms. The next two bedrooms have queen-size beds and the third bedroom has two single beds, ideal for children. Each bedroom has a soft, refined, colourful feel and plenty of storage space. You'll love the dormer window.

These three bedrooms share a second bathroom with a double washbasin, shower and large walk-in wardrobe. A third separate WC is also available for the bedrooms.

All the upstairs bedrooms have electric blackout blinds. The windows of these rooms look out onto the garden or the courtyard at the back of the house.

The staircase to the first floor has ten solid steps and a handrail. The mezzanine also has a handrail. Children remain under the supervision of adult travellers. The owners decline all responsibility in the event of an accident.

The fifth bedroom is an additional room on the ground floor, behind the kitchen. This room has a sofa bed and its own access to the garden. It can also be used as a resting or play area for children and the family. The room also has a large storage cupboard.
